As a skilled nursing center and retirement home, St. Margaret's at Mercy stands apart from all other facilities in the New Orleans area. In our homelike environment, our residents continue to live each day with purpose and passion. We open our hearts to families, working together with our professionals to enrich the lives of your loved ones.
Built around our household model, our design approach draws residents into a social connection by blending the best communal aspects of home life while maintaining privacy and independence. We find it essential for seniors to develop relationships, which is why we structure activities for everyone’s participation.
Within our numerous outdoor patios and indoor lounge areas, you will find arts and crafts, music therapy, Mardi Gras balls, and off-campus field trips.
At St. Margaret's at Mercy, the nursing home Activities Director schedules facility-wide events including bingo, Fiestas, ice cream socials, and more. Structured and unstructured activities are offered to promote the residents' general health, as well as their physical, social, and mental well-being. Moreover, we believe by successfully engaging in arts and crafts, exercise, singing, and interactions with children or pets, our residents will improve their mood, physical function, and self-esteem. These activities will ultimately lead to an improved quality of life.
In addition to regularly scheduled activities, our eight-acre facility has plenty of amenities for our residents to enjoy. Such amenities include:
- Three lush outdoor gardens (one specially designed for people with ALS and MS)
- Multi-purpose room (for birthday parties and other events)
- Hair salon
- On-site therapy
- Four activity rooms
Keeping our residents as happy and healthy as possible for as long as possible, both physically and mentally, is our goal. Our activities are fun and worthwhile, enabling our residents to develop new relationships and skills.
At St. Margaret's at Mercy, we pride ourselves on being a skilled nursing center and retirement community that cares about the health and wellness of our residents. We encourage you to schedule a visit with us today.
